About Gatechecker

Gatechecker replaces the paper daily walkaround check with a guided check on a phone or tablet. Drivers work through the DVSA inspection items for their vehicle type — unit, rigid, van, trailer or forklift — record a pass, advisory or defect on every item, add photos, sign it off and submit. The finished check is filed against the vehicle, with the odometer reading, MOT, PMI and tachograph calibration dates captured along the way, and a PDF report that can be downloaded and kept for your records.

Anything flagged as a defect or advisory goes straight to the people responsible. Transport managers see a live defect register with urgent and vehicle-off-road tracking, repair history and photo evidence, plus daily email digests and compliance dashboards that show which inspections are due or overdue. Companies can import MOT, PMI and tacho dates from a PDF or CSV, so a whole fleet is up to date in minutes rather than vehicle by vehicle.

Gatechecker is built for UK haulage, distribution and logistics operators, for waste and construction fleets running rigids and trailers, and for warehouses and yards using forklifts. It is used by drivers who need a quick, reliable check at the start of a shift, and by the transport managers who have to show that those checks actually happened.

The app is designed, built and supported by a small independent team led by its founder, a UK developer working directly with transport managers to keep the check sheets aligned with DVSA guidance. Everything is built in-house: the check forms, the defect workflow, the reporting and the compliance tooling.
